Technical Superintendent - LPG

    • The Technical Superintendent has the overall responsibility for the safe, economic and efficient operation of vessels assigned. Ensures ships are managed and operated in accordance with organisational policies, operating procedures and management systems. Alert to analyse risks and ensures compliance to the organisation's risk management
    framework.

    Responsibilities:
    • Provide technical and operational support and guidance to assigned vessels.
    • Arrange attendance of service engineers and contractors.
    • Consult manufactures for specialist advice and guidance, where required.
    • Arrange class surveys in timely and cost-effective manner.
    • Coordinate with relevant shore-based resources to support the vessels.
    • Arrange all dry-dock activities and analysis of costs.
    • Report technical and operational issues appropriately.
    • Act as the primary contact for commercial and voyage coordination for assigned vessels.

    Other Duties • Take part in interviews and make recommendations in respect to new-
    hires and promotions.

    • Co-ordinate and agree vessel audits and on-board training.
    • Attend industry forums and seminars, as required.

    • Maintains and promote internal interface with peers and supervisors within Company organization and with parent Company on marine & HSEQ functions.
    • Develops and maintains eternal interface and relationships with customers, terminals, Flag State(s), regulatory bodies, and competitors as applicable to his function.

    Education/Qualifications:
    • Holds Certificate of Competency for Class 1
    • Holds COC of Class I (Motor and Steam)

    Experience:
    • Served as at least Chief Engineer rank on board tanker or Liquefied Gas carriers.
    • Served as CE on Gas Carriers (preferably LNG) and/or previous experience as a Technical Superintendent operating Gas Carriers

    Skills/Knowledge:

    − Has a deep understanding of technical operations for the vessel types managed.
    − Has a deep understanding of the propulsion plant on board vessels managed.
    − Has understanding of cargo containment system, cargo handling equipment and systems on board managed vessels.
    − Has a deep understanding of technical operations on board managed vessels.
    − Has a deep understanding of the propulsion plant on board vessels managed.
    − Has understanding of cargo containment system, cargo handling equipment and systems on board
